WHAT IS THE P.A.P.E. SYSTEM /METHOD?
The P.A.P.E. is a uniquely individualized method of training. It stands for Plan Approach
to Personal Education. One learns effective principles of educating the thought process.
In return, one learns:
- to Make Responsible Decisions;
- to Cultivate the Uniqueness of an Individual
- to Produce a Positive Self Image
- to Master Self Control
To obtain this concept, one learns through choices presented in a responsible setting. The student learns to practice original
thought, organization and follow-through measures as well as to learn values based on a provable Cause and Effect
principle. The student is able to evaluate choices before "acting"; therefore, learning self control. This is personalized education.
HOW IS THE P.A.P.E. SYSTEM DIFFERENT?
The P.A.P.E. system concentrates on decision-making and other attributes of developing self control. The system establishes that
creativity is the art of unique original organizing of familiar and unfamiliar to produce something special to the creator.
Creativity is therefore, the basis of later, good responsible decision making. This is unrelated to IQ.
HOW DOES CREATIVITY PLAY A PART IN THE SYSTEM?
Creativity is a very enriching mental process. Beginning with an idea, the P.A.P.E. method continues to formulate the steps by which
creativity can be accomplished. Then, it physically executes the steps ending with bringing forth the result. This is the height of
the self educational process. Continuous mental stimuli producing positive self initiated success experiences build stronger
foundations for self-confidence. self confidence produces positive self images, creating in the end a responsible, positive self
controlled individual. The method allows for "failure experiences". A failure experience in the earlier years is not damaging
to the ego and is self-recorded as a "learning experience".
HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH RESPONSIBILITY AND DISCIPLINE CHALLENGES?
The Habit of Responsibility in the thought process will begin because of the numerous times the cause and effect principle will
operate within the student's choices which he/she will experience and record. There will be evaluations with a true understanding,
not hearsay nor optical illusion. The habit of evaluating with a sense of responsibility is established and cultivated. The student
will learn that to be happy with him/herself as well as with others, he/she must consider the future effects of his/her choices or
plans. He /she will evaluate the "choice" before the "do" or "act". The self control will become a challenge and will be obvious
in one's desire to choose right behavior. It satisfies the want to solve the challenge.
CAN THIS SYSTEM BE USED IN TODAY'S EXISITING SCHOOL CURRICULA?
The P.A.P.E. Method has been installed in the ordinary classroom. The combination of the previous academically structured agenda
and the P.A.P.E. method is most successful. The teachers requirements are approached more positively and completed more efficiently.
The students know they are making choices which lead them to longer self- planning time. The experiences are positive, self
expressive, responsible and of an extremely enjoyable nature.
WHAT ARE THE RESULTS OF THIS SYSTEM?
Lower scoring "tested" students (concerning IQ) are found to have more unique ideas. The less capable, emotionally challenged
students, exhibit positive behavior changes. Immature students, whether by age or experience, become involved with others and begin
to initiate good ideas. Non-readers and challenged learners are self motivated and begin to master the skills to be able to write
their own "books" as well as read.
The class as a group, as well as the individual, exhibit a desire to make good choices to earn rights (privileges) to
accomplish many new safe experiences. All students keep records of their creative experiences to take home to share with others.
